Profhilo is a skin bio-remodeller which contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump your skin as well as stimulating your own production of collagen and elastin. Although profhilo is made from hyaluronic acid, the same constituent as most dermal fillers, those fillers have different properties and do not fill the face or add volume.

What does the treatment involve?

The treatment begins with a full consultation where you will have time to ask any questions you may have. Profhilo is a two-part treatment, done in two sessions 4-6 weeks apart. In the face, Profhilo is injected beneath the skin surface into five predetermined points on each side of the face. It does not contain local anaesthetic so it may be uncomfortable for some people. Topical anaesthetics cream may be requested but is not often required. Once injected, the product starts spreading underneath the skin. There will be a number of expected lumps and bumps which will disappear over 24 hours.

How long do results last?

Results are dependent on maintenance treatments for long-term natural outcomes. Following an initial treatment course, maintenance treatment involves a single treatment every 3-4 months. Patients who have significant laxity and volume loss may be advised to have 3 sessions initially.

What happens after the treatment?

There is minimal downtime after Profhilo injections.  There may be pinpoint bruising, swelling and mild tenderness to treated areas for 24-72 hours however this is rare.  Aftercare is very similar to a normal injectable procedure and will be explained fully after your treatment.
